Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, and will be able to manage complex accounting functions with accuracy and efficiency. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of our financial records and supporting our financial management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP or other applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate and lead the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Account Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Transaction Management:
- Oversee and manage complex accounting transactions, including accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.
- Review and approve journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and supervise junior accountants and accounting staff.
- Provide training and support to team members as needed.
- Review work and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality output.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function.
- Implement best practices to streamline accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
